General Overview

Is CloudBadging like traditional desktop ID software?
Yes—only better. CloudBadging offers all the capabilities of standard desktop software but operates entirely in the cloud. This means it works on any device with a browser (PC or Mac), and your data, templates, and settings follow you no matter where you log in.

How do I start printing cards?
Just sign up for a free trial. No downloads or credit card required. You'll be ready to design and print cards in minutes.

Is print quality the same as desktop software?
Yes. CloudBadging supports full-color and monochrome printing, just like traditional software. In many cases, features like drag-and-drop design and dynamic images make your cards look even better.


Hardware Compatibility

Can I use my existing ID card printer?
Yes. CloudBadging is printer agnostic—if your printer works with your computer, it works with CloudBadging. This includes both direct-to-card and retransfer models.

Do I need to install anything?
No application installation is required, but you do need to install the appropriate driver for your card printer on the computer you're printing from.

Can I encode magnetic or smart cards?
Currently, CloudBadging does not support encoding for magnetic stripes or smart cards.


Data & Image Management

Can I import existing data?
Yes. CloudBadging supports CSV imports and allows you to define your own fields (text, numbers, dates, and images).

Can I add photos?
Absolutely. You can upload images manually, capture them via webcam, or import them along with your data.


Security & Access

Is my data secure?
Yes. All data is stored in isolated, encrypted databases. Communication is protected with TLS encryption, and data is backed up every 5 minutes with a 30-day backup window.

Where can I access CloudBadging?
Anywhere with an internet connection and a browser. All major browsers are supported, although magnetic encoding is not yet available in Google Chrome.


System & Technical Support

Do I need a specific OS?
No. CloudBadging is platform-independent. If your browser and printer are supported, you’re good to go—even on tablets or mobile devices (for non-printing tasks).

How are updates handled?
Since it’s a cloud application, updates are automatic. You’ll always be using the latest version.
